Funding Opportunities for Summer Learning!

Please research summer opportunities that you might be considering to determine if they would be enriching experiences for the student.
Scholarship Sources to Help Fund Enrichment Experiences:- Support for Talented Students - This organization helps distribute money donated by community organizations and private individuals with the sole purpose of helping gifted learners access summer programs to help develop their talents and interests. A large portion of the organization's money is earmarked for students in Columbus City Schools. Awards are based on financial need. Applications are available on the website until April 15, 2024.
- Ohio Association for Gifted Children - OAGC offers college scholarships and partial funding for identified gifted students to attend enrichment programs. College scholarship applications are due mid-April, and enrichment program scholarship applications are typically due in the fall.

Gifted Testing Referral Links
ONLINE REFERRALS FOR ACADEMIC and/or VISUAL & PERFORMING ARTS ASSESSMENTS
- The online link for referral for Early Entrance to Kindergarten (or First Grade) for the 2024-25 school year is now open. Referrals may come from parents, family members, educators, or health professionals, such as a psychologist or pediatrician, if the child will be 5 years by December 31st. The referral must come from an educator, pediatrician, or psychologist if the child turns 5 on January 1 or later (age 6 if early entrance is to Grade 1). Click this link to refer a student. For early entrance FAQs, click here.
- The online link to refer a student for gifted identification testing will reopen on the first day of school -- August 21, 2024.
- The online link to refer a student for subject or grade acceleration for the 2024-25 school year is available here and will close on March 29th.
- The online referral link for gifted identification in the Visual & Performing Arts is closed. The referral window will reopen August 19, 2024.
Note: Please consider that students in grades 2-8 have multiple assessment opportunities for identification in reading and math through the i-Ready district wide assessment, so additional alternative testing may not be necessary in these two subjects.
