Columbus City Schools Partners with Columbus City Council to Keep Student Safe with the Distribution of Safety Reflectors
In Columbus City Schools, we are SAFER TOGETHER. We are safer when we work together to prioritize safety, and when we act together to protect each other. Columbus City Schools students’ safety is a top priority for the District and Columbus City Council. Last Thursday, the District partnered with the City to distribute safety reflectors to middle school student. In October, City Council dedicated $10,000 to go towards the purchase of these safety reflects.

School Garden Program sees growth with assistance from Ohio State University students. New this year, 44 learning gardens are getting a makeover, while 20 new gardens are in the process of being built this fall.

Class of 2020 Encouraged To Reach Higher As They Set The Course For Graduations & Beyond
Columbus City Schools, I Know I Can, and the City of Columbus came together to celebrate the Class of 2020 during the “Reach Higher: All Seniors In” Convocation at the Columbus Convention Center on September 20. More than 2,100 students from the Districts 19 high schools attended the event aimed at inspiring all students to take charge of their future and complete an education past high school, serve in the military or start a career.

Columbus Board of Education Votes to Approve Teacher Contract that Focuses on Student Achievement, Highly Qualified Teachers
The Columbus Board of Education at a special meeting Monday morning voted unanimously to approve a three-year contract agreement with the Columbus Education Association (CEA), the union representing the District’s 4,000 teachers, nurses, counselors, social workers and other education professionals.
