  • Columbus Police Brings TAPS Program to Africentric; Building Relationships with Teens

    Columbus Division of Police are headed back to the classroom to focus on the city’s youngest generation to help improve law enforcement and teenagers’ relationships. This school year the 11-week program is focusing on mentoring students at Columbus Africentric Early College and Sherwood Middle School. Students partner with mentor officers to discuss issues like bullying, anger management, avoidance of gang life, drug usage as well as law enforcement topics

  • Columbus Africentric Early College Host Human Trafficking Workshop 

    Columbus Africentric Early College in partnership with the LINKS, Incorporated Twin Rivers Ohio Chapter hosted the My Sister's Keeper: Breaking Chains of Human Trafficking-Prevention and Intervention Strategies workshop. The prevention-based program focuses on at-risk youth 13-18 years old. Students got the chance to listen to stories from victims to survivors of human trafficking in Columbus.
