As the 2024-2025 school year comes to a close, Columbus City Schools (CCS) gears up for the best weeks of summer: Summer Experience. Bill Nye the Science Guy surprised educators at engaging professional development day geared towards igniting their excitement for the summer.

The Fort Hayes Metropolitan Education Center buzzed with excitement as Columbus City Schools (CCS) hosted its annual Countdown to Kindergarten event, welcoming incoming kindergartners and their families for a day of fun, learning, and connection.
Host Dr. Todd Walker is joined by Otis Winston, Kelly Rivers, and Dr. Vincent Clarno to talk about the lasting influence of educators. From personal stories to practical advice, this episode focuses on how teachers inspire, motivate, and shape lives far beyond the classroom.
In celebration of National Tell A Story Day, the Department of Communications and the Division of Literacy hosted their second annual short story contest.

With the help of community partners like North Broadway United Methodist, schools like Indianola Informal K-8, Clinton Elementary, and Valleyview Elementary students and their families are able to have invaluable meals together on weekends or breaks when school is out.

Breakfast drop off is in the back of the building from 8:30am-8:55am. 8:55am and after drop off in the front of the building.
No students are allowed on the property before 8:30am. Students are tardy at 9am.
We do not release early, after 3:00pm.
We do not accept dismissal changes over the phone, email or talking points. Send a signed note the morning of the change.

Call or email any time your student is absent. Make sure to include the reason. If we are not available to answer the phone, leave a message.
