In Columbus City Schools, we are fortunate to operate in a city full of generosity. Countless examples in classrooms all across our District prove that when businesses, organizations, and individuals are asked to donate in support of our students or our schools, they often give generously and without question.
Columbus City Schools partners with DonorsChoose.org to connect teachers with those in our community who want to help. Teachers create classroom project requests, and you can give any amount to the project that inspires you.
You find a project
Find a classroom project that inspires you and give as little as $1. DonorsChoose is a public charity, so your donation is tax-deductible. Teachers identify exactly what their students need, so you can directly support the projects you care about most.
DonorsChoose fulfills the order
When a project is fully funded, DonorsChoose purchases all the requested items and ships them directly to the school. No money is sent to the school to ensure that your gift is used for its intended purpose.
Teachers thank you
Every donor gets a thank-you letter and a report of how each dollar was spent. Since 2007, more than $1.1 million dollars has been donated to projects in Columbus City Schools through DonorsChoose.
For Teachers and Staff
The Columbus Board of Education has adopted a crowdfunding policy that requires any staff member to get the Superintendent’s permission to engage in crowdfunding such as DonorsChoose.
