Seniors to Sophomores (S2S)

    Seniors-to-Sophomores (S2S) is a highly selective, dual enrollment program for seniors that enables them to earn a year worth of high school and college credit simultaneously. The program will allow students to be challenged academically, gain valuable life skills and enter college as a sophomore. Student participants are chosen through a selection process after applying and meeting the program’s eligibility requirements.

    S2S… Assistance & Support
    S2S is a program under the umbrella of College Credit Plus (CCP). CCP was created by the state of Ohio in 2015. S2S offers an additional layer of targeted support and advising to ensure that cohort members are successful. It also allows students the benefit of collaborating with other CCS students. Participants are selected by the program committee in separate application and acceptance processes.

    S2S provides ASSISTANCE that covers:

    • The cost of tuition, books, and fees (fees like parking and campus rec center are not covered)
    • Extended COTA bus pass to help with transportation

    Selected students can participate with the following program partners:

    • Capital University
    • Columbus State Community College
    • Franklin University
    • Otterbein University
    • The Ohio State University

     

    Student Benefits Include:

    • Exposure to college coursework
    • A year worth of college credit at no cost
    • High school AND college credit simultaneously
    • Courses weighted on a 5.0 scale
    • Added layer of targeted support in the form of:
      • Academic advising
      • Ongoing check-ins
      • Collaboration with other CCS students provided by cohort model

    Student Eligibility Includes:

    • Rising Seniors (students completing 11th grade)
    • Earned a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
    • Completed Math III or higher with a B or better
    • Completed 3-years of English with a B or better
    • On track to meet one state graduation option
    • Meet university admission requirements
    • May also be required to take college placement exams or submit ACT scores

    Student Application Includes:

    • Transcript
    • Attendance and Discipline Records
    • Application Form
    • Essay
    • 3 Letters of Recommendation
