The Office of Safety & Security serves as a source of information, assistance and guidance to students, parents, teachers, and staff as well as a link to support services within the community.

The Office of Safety and Security has a true sense of commitment to our students and school personnel with its proactive approach to bridging the communication gap, building good relationships and promoting positive student behavior in and out of schools. In addition to student safety, our staff works closely with local law enforcement and emergency management officials in developing and maintaining action plans for potential emergencies. The department’s ultimate goal is to ensure school safety.

The Office of Safety and Security consists of the Director, Assistant Directors, Security Supervisors, a Secretary, Compliance Investigators, Accident Investigators, a Training Coordinator, and over 120 safety and security specialists who provide professional safety and security services to over 45,000 diverse students within the Columbus City School district. The department is dedicated to ensuring a safe, secure, and effective learning environment for students, staff, and the community.
