Meeting Agenda Topics

The meeting agenda topics include:

14.1 - Supporting Whole-Child Focused and Equitable Opportunities for All, the Board will be asked to authorize the administration to enter into an agreement with Healthcare Billing Services, Inc. The Federal Medicaid program encourages states to use funds from their Medicaid program to help pay for certain healthcare services that are delivered in the schools, providing that federal regulations are followed. Since schools are required to provide services listed on the IEP - whether or not Medicaid funding is available, school districts rely on Federal Medicaid funding to offset the expenses of providing these medically necessary services.

14.2 - Supporting Strong Learning Communities in Every Region, the Board will be asked to authorize the administration to enter into an agreement with Studies Weekly Science & Social Studies for grade K-5 teachers and students. This is a yearly subscription for a student-oriented periodical format with a comprehensive online learning platform for grades K-5 in both Science and Social Studies. This resource will support both teachers and students in all classrooms. The Social Studies curriculum is organized thematically to the strands of civics and government, geography, economics, and history. The Science curriculum supports Life Science, Physical Science as well as Earth and Space.

14.5 -  Supporting Whole-Child Focused, Strong Learning Community in Every Region, Equitable Opportunities for All, and Authentic Engagement, the Board will be asked to authorize the administration to enter into an agreement with QuaverEd, Inc. QuaverMusic is a comprehensive, fully digital music curriculum that provides additional supplemental resources packed with engaging content that meets the Pre-K-8th grade National Standards. This purchase will ensure students have continued access to quality Tier 1 curriculum resources (textbooks and online platform) for general K-8 music throughout the District.

16.1 -  Supporting Strong Learning Communities in Every Region and Authentic Engagement, the Board will be asked to authorize the administration to enter into an agreement with Omnigo Software LLC. The Office of Safety and Security is responsible for tracking and reporting on all safety incidents at all Columbus City Schools and facilities 24/7. Accurately reporting incidents is the first step in developing effective prevention strategies. When school officials accurately report incidents, the documented data can be used for early identification of trends, identification of patterns, and to provide related red flags so school and safety officials can intervene.
