• Hello Warrior Family!

This is Mrs. Fowler, Principal of Eastmoor Academy High School with your weekly updates.

Nelson Mandela once said, "Education is the most powerful weapon for changing the world." There could not be a truer statement to convey the importance of our students remaining connected and engaged in direct and in-person learning.  As you know, all students have returned to in-person learning five days a week.  It has been awesome to watch them reconnect with their friends and our staff.

The health and safety of our entire Eastmoor Academy family is always the driving force behind decisions made that impact our school environment.  Anytime a member of our Eastmoor family tests positive for COVID, we will immediately begin our contact tracing protocol.  This process allows us to identify individuals that may have had direct exposure for longer than fifteen minutes.  These individuals are then immediately notified along with their parents and the required next action steps are taken to ensure that our students and staff are safe.  Our process follows CDC and Ohio Public Health guidelines.

In an effort to ensure that we are able to accurately identify those individuals that may have been directly exposed for more than fifteen minutes, starting tomorrow, Monday, September 13th, students will be assigned seats during their lunch period.  Our eating area has expanded to not only include the cafeteria but the auditorium as well.  The seat and lunch period location assignment that your student receives will be where they will need to sit during the entire lunch period.  Of course, students in both locations will receive lunch and access to the restrooms.  They will not, however, be able to freely roam other parts of the building during their lunch. We realize that this may seem very restrictive, however, it is necessary.  With rising numbers of COVID cases in the city and across the United States, we are trying to limit the spread within the EA family and increase our ability to identify those that may have had direct exposure.

Please take a few moments to review with your student these changes and to share with them the importance of them properly wearing their mask and adhering to these requirements.  We are doing our best to remain healthy, safe, and in our building learning and engaging every student every day.  Your support is greatly appreciated.

    Have a good evening!
