Our Staff:
The teaching staff of Woodward Park is highly trained in their individual fields. The majority of our staff possess their Master's Degree and beyond. Woodward Park teachers often receive recognition for their instructional leadership abilities.
Community Partnerships:
Woodward Park receives support from various community members. Epworth United Methodist Church, Karl Road Christian Church, Karl Road Baptist Church, and the Ohio Department of Taxation offer support such as providing school supplies, clothes for students, and snacks for the children and teachers for either test-taking support or in recognition of good academics. Woodward Park also partners with the Karl Road Library, the North YMCA, One Child One Community, and Big Brothers, Big Sisters, ATM for Youth, Nationwide Children's Hospital - Behavioral Health Counselor and Communities In Schools.
Curriculum:
Woodward Park offers a diverse curriculum that includes mathematics, English, social studies, language arts, Integrated math I, Spanish I, and II, career connections, science, coding, computer applications, introductory engineering, PLTW courses, art, physical education, vocal and instrumental music, and programs in special education. Courses may be offered to select grade levels for high school credits. We also offer gifted and talented programs for students who qualify.
Both campuses offer tutoring and remediation for our students, called Mastery Academy. We offer programs such as i-Ready to monitor progress, reading intervention programs, and other programs to meet the needs of the students.
Student Assistance:

Activities:
Students benefit from a variety of programs, such as Youth Appreciation Night at Clipper Stadium, and career development. We offer recognition activities for our students who demonstrate exceptional performance in academics, athletics and good citizenship. When appropriate, our students are involved in study trips that support our academic programs, including a 8th grade trip to Washington, DC. One of the most prestigious activities is the National Junior Honor Society. Students are inducted based on academic excellence at the end of the seventh grade.
Students can develop special interests through instrumental and vocal music, sports (grades seven and eight), and art exhibits. Academic activities include: Math Counts, Power of the Pen, STEM, Young Women in Science, Debate, MLK Youth Oratorical Contest, National Mock Trial, Robotics, RC Car club and the Spelling Bee.
PBIS:
Woodward Park follows four guiding characteristics included in our Positive Behavior Interventions and Support. Here at Woodward Park MS we use https://www.pbisrewards.com/login/ to provide support and points to students so that they can purchase items from our school stores. The 4 P's at Woodward Park include Prompt, Prepared, Productive and Polite.

Professional Learning Communities:
Woodward Park has teaching teams for students which are named after a variety of Wildcats. Team names include: Ocelots, Snow Leopards, Tigers, Cheetahs, Jaguars, Mountain Lions, Bobcats, Pumas and Lynx
Parent Involvement:
Woodward Park offers multiple Family Engagement opportunities throughout the year and parents are always welcome in our buildings! We send text reminders and monthly email newsletters to keep families aware of educational, recreational, and community opportunities.
Where We Are Located:
Woodward Park is located at 5151 Karl Road, in the north section of Columbus. The easiest way to visit our school is to travel East on Morse Road from 71 and then North on Karl Road; Woodward Park is located on the West side of Karl Road, South of 161 (E Dublin-Granville Road) sharing a parking lot with Woodward Park Recreation Center of the Columbus Recreation and Parks.
W@W is located at 1860 Walden Drive in the north section of Columbus. The easiest way to visit our school is to travel East on 161 (E Dublin-Granville Road) from 71 and then South on Tamarack Blvd. W@W is located on the north side of Walden Drive, next to Walden Park of the Columbus Recreation and Parks.
