Naa Dromo Korley named Thursday Night Lights Scholar-Athlete of the Year
Jan. 14, 2020 - Congratulations to Centennial High School senior Naa Dromo Korley for being named the Thursday Night Lights Scholar-Athlete of the Year! On January 9th, Naa Dromo was surprised with a $5,000 college scholarship check, presented by the CW Columbus and Lifeline of Ohio.
Lifeline of Ohio partnered with the CW Columbus to honor high school student-athletes for their achievements inside and outside the classroom.
Naa was one of twenty students across Central Ohio featured in weekly high school football matchups on the station’s Thursday Night Lights program. She was nominated by Centennial High School Athletic Director Lucas Tuggle for her academic and athletic achievements, as well as her involvement in the community.
The multi-talented athlete is the captain of the basketball team and a member of the volleyball team. She was named Most Valuable Player, as well as the recipient of several awards including The Coaches Award, Top Performer Award, and Freshman of the Year.
Naa is well involved in her church where she plays the piano and violin. She also volunteers to help the homeless, was named the 2020 class president at Centennial and holds a 4.1 GPA.
Naa plans to major in medical anthropology in college, with dreams of becoming an OBGYN.
