PARENT INVOLVEMENT POLICY
Columbus International High School values parent involvement. We believe that parents are essential partners in their child's education.
We encourage parents to:
- Participate in their child's learning: Contribute to their child's academic success.
- Provide input: Be involved in school decisions and advisory committees.
- Support school activities: Help with school-wide events and initiatives.
Columbus International High School is committed to strong parent involvement.
In line with the Columbus City School Board's Community Relations Policy, we will:
- Develop Parent-School Compacts: Work with parents to create, implement, and review individual learning plans. These compacts will be signed at the beginning of the school year and reviewed as needed. They will also be available on our school website.
- Involve Parents in School Planning: Encourage parents to participate in the PTA and other school planning committees. Meetings will be scheduled to accommodate parents' needs.
- Build Capacity for Parent Involvement: Provide opportunities for parents and the school to learn and grow together in the area of parent involvement.
Columbus International High School is committed to keeping parents informed and
involved. We will provide information on:
- State standards, assessments, and Title I requirements
- Your child's progress
- How to work with your child's teachers
We will communicate this information through:
- Annual fall meetings
- Parent-teacher conferences
- School newsletters
- Our school website
We will also provide:
- Materials and resources to help you support your child's learning
- Training opportunities for parents
- Parent information days and nights based on school needs
- We will maintain regular communication with parents using clear and understandable language.
We encourage parents to:
- Participate in decision-making
- Volunteer
- Attend Title I meetings
- Read school and classroom newsletters
- Complete annual parent surveys
- Schedule parent-teacher conferences
We will coordinate parent involvement activities with other school initiatives, such as after-school programs.
