Quarantine Guidelines
-
The CDC and ODH have updated the guidelines for quarantine of close contacts of COVID-19 cases. Columbus Public Health now recommends a 10 day quarantine period (decreased from 14). CCS implemented these changes beginning Monday, December 14.
Please see the updated CPH protocol below. The updated protocol includes two changes:
- Quarantine for 10 days from date of most recent exposure and monitor for symptoms
- Testing of asymptomatic children with close contact exposure to COVID-19 is now recommended.
It is also important to note that according to the CDC, all close contacts should continue to monitor for symptoms for 14 days after close contact with a person with COVID-19 even though the quarantine period has been reduced to 10 days.
