• CCS Summer Experience

    Columbus City Schools is excited to launch the new CCS Summer Experience with an expanded curriculum and enriching program offerings for all students from Kindergarten through 12th grade. Summer Experience offerings are free and open to all students who live within the Columbus City School District boundaries.

     

    More information will be coming out throughout the month of February, including program descriptions and logistical details.

     

    Click here to pre-register and receive a notification when more details are available and when the official registration portal opens. Submitting a pre-registration form does not qualify for enrollment in the Summer Experience. Formal registration will take place via the Parent Portal at a later date.

Elementary Schools

  • June 15-July 23 (Monday - Thursday, 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.)

    Grades K-2: GROWING & GOING

    This is a hands-on enrichment experience that will help propel students to greater academic success. Students will be immersed in a six-week collaborative experience that will focus on strengthening academic skills to solve real-world problems.

    Grades 3-5: EXPLORING & EXCELLING

    Students will focus on skill development through problem-solving and design while enhancing their literacy and numerical thinking and comprehension. Activities and projects will foster critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication.

Middle Schools

  • June 15-July 23 (Monday - Thursday, 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.)

    CREATING & COLLABORATING

    Students will be immersed in a six-week, collaborative experience in which they will use design-thinking strategies to solve real-world problems in the areas of aviation, drones, eSports, food science, medicine, robotics, and 3D modeling. Students will gain experience as a researcher, designer, entrepreneur, and communicator.

High Schools

  • June 15-July 24 (Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m., no class on July 3) 

    ACCELERATING & ADVANCING

    Students will have the opportunity to take courses for credit recovery or acceleration, including art and physical education. Students can also choose engaging enrichment offerings that will enhance and develop their communication, collaboration, and team-building skills.

Learning Beyond the Classroom

  • All offerings will provide experiences beyond the classroom, such as visits to Franklin Park Conservatory, COSI, Spruce Run Nature Preserve, and others that complement learning at each grade level.

    All grade levels will also include free breakfast and lunch, provided by the City of Columbus Recreation and Parks.
